Pizza anti-wrinkle

A nutritionist and a cook created in southern Italy a “pizza anti-wrinkle” that was appreciated by the Pope, but that was classified “sacrilege” by Gourmet purists, reported Monday the newspaper La Stampa.

The new pizza, christened “Primula,” prepared with wheat flour and raw vegetables, which contain three times more dietary fibre than a classic pizza and much more magnesium and iron, elaborated their creators.

Inventors are biochemist and nutritionist at the University of Naples (south of Italy) Eugenio Luigi Iorio and restaurateur Cosimo Mogavero, that the present experimental basis in one establishment called “The fabbrica dei sapori”, in the town of Battipaglia, in the province of Salerno (southern Italy).

The creators claim that the eight vegetables and condiments that make up the virtues have anti-ageing antioxidants such as tomatoes, garlic, zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, spinach and basil.

For the “Association of the real Neapolitan pizza” is the “ultimate sacrilege” against centuries of culinary tradition, as the wheat flour prevents the dough grow by heat and forming the edge characteristic of the Neapolitan pizza.
