The muesli is a food resulting from the combination of cereals with nuts and honey, among others. It is similar to granola. At present there is a wide variety of healthy and tasty recipes based muesli.
In addition to being a delicious mix, is a food of high nutritional value recommended by nutritionists.
The muesli was discovered by chance by the famous Swiss doctor Max Bircher-Benner, a pioneer of the methods of natural feeding. As is known, discovered during one of his walks through the mountains of the Alps, where a montañes offered to share their food, which was a kind of porridge of wheat milled diluted in milk sweetened with honey, accompanied by apple slices.
Today the muesli is known by different names: in England is called “Swiss musli”, in Milan “Dolce surprise” and Zurcí “Birche.” Many restaurants and houses dietary offer a variety of “Bircher Muesli-” packaged or bars. It is also possible to find bread muesli.
The muesli maintains its nutritious properties and requires no cooking and it is recommended to take freshly prepared, preferably during the breakfast.
It is a very complete food, containing vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and minerals. Are advised to take what both adults and children, especially those who often do not eat well or suffer from constipation.
The muesli is easy digestion and allows for diverse and tasty combinations like these:
Muesli chocolate. It is a mixture of flakes of wheat, oats, barley, corn, chocolate flakes, rice and sultanas chocolatado crisp. This kind of muesli love to children.
Tropical Muesli crisp. It is made with toasted oatmeal flakes, raw sugar, vegetable fat, oat bran, sea salt, honey, dried banana and pineapple, chopped nuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, raisins varied, not sweetened coconut and preservatives (sulphur dioxide ).
Muesli with apple and nuts. It is made based on flakes of wheat, oats, barley, sultanas, sunflower seeds and flax, wheat germ, peeled peanuts, hazelnuts and dried apple slices.
Fruit Muesli. Contains wheat flakes, oats, barley and corn, sultanas, sunflower seeds and dried fruits such as dates, apricots, apples and plums.
